This programme offers students a highly recognized pathway to secure Direct Entry admission into 200 Level at the University of Lagos and selected international partner universities.
The UNILAG JUPEB programme is designed for candidates seeking an alternative route to traditional UTME admission. Through the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme, successful students can gain admission into undergraduate degree programmes without starting from 100 Level.
Candidates who successfully complete the Foundation programme and pass the approved JUPEB examination become eligible for consideration for Direct Entry admission through JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) into 200 Level at UNILAG and other participating universities.
The programme also creates opportunities for students who wish to pursue higher education abroad. - The entrance examination shall hold on Saturday, 5 th September 2026 at the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) and the Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe Centre for Information Technology and Systems (ABS-CITS) in the University of Lagos.Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Tests.
All Questions are Multiple Choice.
Examination subjects are: Mathematics, English Language (20 questions each) and 3 other relevant subjects according to candidate’s choice of subject combination (15 questions each), making a total of 85 questions, to be answered in forty-five (45) minutes. Please note that candidates with Mathematics as one of the three subject combinations would need to choose Further Mathematics as a subject in the entrance examination combination.

Applicants are to note very importantly that admission into undergraduate programmes of the University is based on approved capacity for each programme and therefore success at JUPEB examination does not always translate into admission for preferred course of choice.
The University, may at its discretion conduct or adopt other measures of testing to ascertain students to admit in cases where there are more successful candidates than the approved capacity for some courses.
